OOM: All Skate Skellig Dream Magic Weirdness?

Is it a dream? A glimpse of a universe that might have been? A story untold?

Something called Skellig out here, to a road scratched in the earth between the desert and the land irrigated by the river. The sun overhead is like a hammer, the heat murderous. His coat...he can't remember WHAT happened to his coat. In this heat the coat would be as strange as his wings to human eyes in any case.

There are two small mud-brick houses up ahead, then more road, and a mud-brick wall encircling a small village of mud-brick houses.

He needs a drink, desperately.

He hears footsteps coming toward him, the heat haze breaks to reveal a woman. (Except she can't be a woman, no one human has that much Light inside them, that much power.)

"Even one touched by the gods should not be walking about this time of day," her voice is all concern, all worry. She's wearing a white linen kilt around her waist, and nothing at all above it except a necklace of blue clay beads. She's lovely. (And she feels familiar? Why?)

She offers a hand to him, seemingly not concerned in the slightest about his wings.

Oh. Oh.

Skellig's concern dissipates, but it is replaced with a greater feeling of confusion, and a hint of conflict. Working his throat soundlessly, he bites his lower lip as she shifts against him and moans again. It is obvious that she is dreaming, and it is growing more apparent as to what exactly she is dreaming about.

Remaining still, he focuses his vision on the ceiling, and tries to think of anything else in the moment. He would not take advantage of her, in this manner...

And then she gasps quietly, and he is forced to inhale a deeper breath as he feels heat build, low in his gut, his heartbeat quicken in his chest.

His torment won't last much longer. She wakes up with a quiet gasp, the same one that made heat build in his gut before.

She's a bit flushed as she meets his gaze, flustered. "Good morning, Skellig."

Skellig smiles softly when she speaks, and reaches to touch her cheek, before tucking a strand of her hair behind an ear.

"Good morning, Kreyu."

(He had located the missing amulet at some point in the hours before dawn, but hasn't tied it back around his neck, simply buried it beneath a pillow within easy reach if the need arose.)

"Did you rest well?"

"I did, though it seems my mind and my heart had not had their fill of you even though my body was quite tired."

"Did you sleep well?"

"Better than I have in some time."

A faint smirk tugs at the corner of his lips, when she mentions her dream.

"I noticed. Perhaps after your body has recovered, we can work later to appease your heart and mind," he suggests, casually. He is no shape to get up to any antics right now, and is happy to simply lie entangled with her in this quiet space.

"I'm glad."

She blushes when he says he noticed. "I would like that. Though THIS time I plan to put up a spell to keep the neighbors from hearing QUITE so much noise."

"I also will need to recover," he adds. "And I suspect they would be appreciative."

His eyes drift from her face to the table where the small pot rests that Tawaret had left for her, but he doesn't linger, his focus returning back to Kreyu. He has a suspicion that she doesn't remember the midwife coming, but he wants to confirm it, before he mentions.

"We fit well together, in this bed as such." Her body wrapped around his.

"We do," she replies, laughing softly. "You don't mind me being wrapped around you like this?"

Skellig shakes his head, the motion slight. "No. I rather quite enjoy it, actually." He shifts one arm, finding a way to pull her just a fraction closer.

She beams. "Lucky for me. Could sleep like this with you every night. It's almost like sleeping on my hoard in dragon shape."

Smugly: "Then I am honored to be considered worthy of such..."

With one hand, he motions at just how she's laid out atop / alongside his body.

"...whatever this is."

"You are more than worthy, Skellig. Of anyone."

She flushes. "I....I don't know what this is," she tells him. "I would let you go, if you wished to leave, but I don't WANT you to go."

"I have no desire to go anywhere. You are stuck with me," he laughs.

Skellig snuggles her into his body, content. Although there is one thing...

"However...we have been invited to later call upon your teacher...Tawaret?"

Kreyu stares at him in utter confusion. "I, we have? How did you....?"

Nope, she doesn't remember their late night visitor at all.

"It would seem that over the course of our evening that...word reached her, of our activities."

Or the noise, which depending on how deep into the village Tawaret's 'nest' is, might be cause for greater concern.

"She stopped in to check on you, while we slept. I spoke with her. You...were still very tired. I was not sure if you would remember, this morning." He nods his head towards the table. "She brought you a drink, for the morning. I am supposed to have you drink it once you woke and decided to move from this bed."

Kreyu flushes. "She's such a dear, checking on me. I don't know that I NEED what the drink will do, but better safe than sorry, as she's fond of saying."

Skellig is pretty sure he can guess the purpose of the concoction, but there are some things (especially regarding women and how their bodies work) that he finds it best to refrain from speculation on.

"She was quite kind, and was glad to see no harm had come to you at my hand."

A pause.

"She...she also saw my wings, and I believe yours as well. She did not seem concerned."

Kreyu's heart surges in panic when Skellig says that Taweret saw his wings, but starts to slow as he finishes speaking. "That, that is great good fortune. I, I may have left evidence, with the bandits. I did not use magic to kill them all."

She makes sure one hand is safely away from Skellig, calls an echo of her draconic shape into her hand. The hand changes, becomes covered in hard, smoke colored scales and sporting NASTY talons the size of daggers. "I should have been more careful." She didn't see what Skellig did to the bandit with the crossbow.

That is certainly not what Skellig was expecting her to do with her hand, but he isn't bothered by it. Cautiously (she may not want him to touch her, but he is not afraid) and curiously he extends his hand to touch the back of hers, running his fingertips over the scales.

"My talons are not nearly as impressive. They are more...suggestions, when needed." There is a slight ripple to the air around his hand, and although the form of his fingers does not appear to shift to the eye, the idea of talons at the ends of his nails will flit across Kreyu's senses. "Yours are lovely."

If he sounds slightly envious, well, he is.

"And all I managed was to crush his bones and snap his neck where he knelt," he adds. He might even sound vaguely disappointed.

She does not mind the touch at all, smiles in pleasure as he touches. Her scales are hard but smooth under his touch, warm as her human skin would be.

"Very difficult to do anything delicate, like this," she tells him. "Yours are far more elegant, more subtle."

"The one who shot me?" she guesses. She kisses whatever part of him she can reach. "You did perfectly well, Skellig."

"I could take you out of sight of the village, show you my draconic shape. You, you ought to know, what I look like." There's an echo of worry about revealing that and she's not sure why.

"I would be honored to view whatever form you should choose to share with me," he says. While her hand is still shifted to scales, he brings it to his mouth and presses his lips against the hard surface, kissing gently. "If that is what you would wish to do."

Perhaps later, after meeting with Tawaret.
Or at the very least, after breakfast.

"And yes, the one who fired the bolt which struck you." He adds.

His kiss makes her shiver. She lets the scales and talons go so she can touch him without risking hurting him, caresses his face.

"After breakfast, I think? Best to get anything that needs to be done outside done before the heat of the day."

"With direction, I could prepare something for us." Or at the very least, help her, if she'll let him.

"And avoiding the heat of the day would be best. My skin feels much better, but I fear I will be far more easily burnt for some time, until my body adapts."

"Help would be lovely," Kreyu replies. "I have bread leftover from yesterday, and some eggs. And beer, of course."

Yes, beer IS a breakfast drink around here.

"I fear you will, yes. But I can make plenty of ointment." The words imply that he plans to stay, and stay for a while.

"I can help with that as well, making ointment" he offers, not yet wanting to leave this bed or this space, but knowing at some point they will have to. Because she is right, and the memory of the blistering sun taking aim at his body is still quite fresh.

"Although it is tempting to allow myself to burn again, if only for the...aftercare."

He wouldn't.
Maybe just once.

His eyes fall to the 'drink' on the table, and he thinks of earlier.

"Does the midwife...does she know of your wings?"
