Purring (as a cat would do) is not a skill which Skellig truly has in any realistic sense; while some owl calls are similar to a purr, they are certainly not suited for this peace and quiet they have created within the space of her (their?) room here inside the Lair itself.
But as she works her hands over his chest, perhaps she will sense a vibration from his body, pleasure and comfort, the sense of security he feels from her touches. As well as the growing want that is beating beneath the surface, his body stirring - his skin twitching involuntarily as she strokes over sensitive (in a good way) places.
He is still maintaining his 'control', but the more she works him over, the tougher it is becoming.
