That is not what Skellig was truly expecting to happen during this experiment, but his reaction time is swift, and once she has risen from the Rod (he helps, unnaturally quick in his movements to lift her as best he can) he shoves it to the far side of the circle in front of them, brings her back down to the cushions as she is still in the 'straddled' position in front of him, body tight with discomfort.

One hand of his falls to her hip, the other to the top of her thigh, and he presses his chest firmly against her back, wrapping one of his wings around her protectively.
Typically he would ask permission before using his abilities to heal a person; this is not one of those instances. He simply shifts his hand from her thigh to low on her belly and 'reaches', listening to where her body is protesting her pain and working to send his energy - he has plenty of it to spare, and is in no danger - to fix it.
