OOM All Skate Skellig Dream Magic Weirdness -Part Seven
It turns out that 'guarding the lair' involves more than just staying in one place. Kreyu has a goal today of scouting outside their borders, looking for possible trouble.
Given that Skellig can't speak the local language, yet, they're not trying to pass as locals. Skellig is just wearing a kilt as they stalk through the forest.
The wilderness is truly wild here, only barely touched by humans. Beasts of all kinds live in these woods, wolves, deer, boars, birds, rabbits, and more.

(It comes with the territory of spending hours, weeks, days observing - learning patterns, watching people come and go, finding the right moment to slip past unnoticed or make his move. It is the 'owl' part of his mind, mixed with a hint of the beast, survival instincts.)
But once they do decide to break for the evening and start preparing dinner - he is grateful, and more than a little tired mentally. It was smart of her, he thinks, to wear the dress as they worked on that exercise, because his mind is not thinking at all of sex at the moment. His priorities are wine, dinner, and then dessert.
"I feel as if I did decent, for my first day," he says as he pours each of them a cup of wine to drink as she stirs at the cheese.

"I found the spell Elihu mentioned. I was thinking of using it on you tomorrow, then we can go into the city again and you'll learn by listening, just MUCH faster than you would naturally."
no subject
He nods at the mention of the spell.
"I will take any advantage I could gain." He pauses. "This may sound...ignorant, but is it the city where we will go to help the slaves, also? Or is that a different city?"
no subject
She sighs. "We used to let anyone and everyone come in, wherever they liked to, but that caused some problems. Ionikan spies, saboteurs and assassins killed some people, caused a lot of trouble. I'm sure we aren't catching all of them with the process we have now, but it's reduced the problems."
no subject
"What is the process now?" He asks, after a few moments of eating, while wrestling a bit of bread and cheese to cooperate. "You do not have to go into great detail, I would just like to know before we go on that day."
no subject
She grins. "After all, I have information proving that they AREN'T planted agents of Ionika."
no subject
After all, he is not sure how 'public' this all will be, judges and courts and advocates. (For as much as he scraped by in the past, his experiences with the legal system have been few and far between, thankfully.)
"I will not spoil myself for the surprise of your arrival," he adds, teasing a bit. "I must play the part, of course."
no subject
She blushes. "And once I'm visible I'm likely to occupy everyone's attention for quite some time."
no subject
"Especially in that dress," he comments, giving her a once-over appreciatively. "I have done much better today, with distraction. The sight of you in it still causes me to contemplate the ways I'd like to worship you but I have...managed to stay calm."
no subject
"I'm glad," she tells him once she's finished chewing. "I thought the distraction and mental effort might help keep things calm." She chuckles. "It seems very inconvenient, one's body responding like that. I don't know how men manage."
no subject
Skellig smirks.
"It is much more difficult in the clothing of this landscape. There is much less...room to hide."
no subject
"Ah, I suppose that would make a great deal of difference," she admits. "I have yet to go very far north, where the weather is cooler and people wear far more clothing."
no subject
He laughs under his breath, reaches for a bite of ham for himself. "I will just have to adapt and make it less...obvious."
no subject
She offers him a tidbit of cooked vegetable dipped in cheese, careful not to get anything on either of their clothes.
"Will definitely need to take this dress off after dinner," she remarks. "It's comfortable enough, but hardly suitable for lounging curled up with my husband."
no subject
"I know you have much more comfortable things to lounge in," he points out. "If you feel attire is needed at all."
He glances to the bed.
"I did tidy it up a bit...but then nested in it again after I'd finished."
no subject
She glances at the bed. "It looks fair enough to me, although...." she ponders. "I think the sky will be clear tonight. We could take some pillows and blankets up higher on the volcano, curl up together and watch the stars?"
no subject
"I would like that very much," he says. "Bring blankets, pillows, and our dessert with us to enjoy. Sounds like a lovely way to spend time lounging with my wife."
Being outdoors will do him good, help keep his internal clock in tune with the ley lines of the world, the energy that surrounds the Lair and Karma that flows freely throughout.
no subject
"We'll pass by our field on the way up, see how the flowers are doing." They're doing well, VERY well, as far along as if they'd been growing for weeks instead of mere days.
no subject
"I would say the harvest will be plentiful," he comments. "We may have to stagger the ritual a bit as to not have everything come to readiness at the same time." There simply would not be enough workers to keep up with it all. "Alternate regions in which we perform it. Share the 'wealth', so to speak?"
no subject
There's a nice flat area with a good view of the sky that she's headed toward. It won't take them too much longer to reach it.
no subject
He does not mind the walking, even uphill as it is - after all, he is in quite good shape these days.
Once they reach the flattened clearing of sorts, Skellig hands her over the flowers (with a sheepish grin) in exchange for the blankets and pillows, and sets himself to arranging a decent 'nest' for lounging in.
no subject
It won't take too long to settle into their nest, curled up together beneath a blanket against the chill of the altitude and the approaching night. The stars aren't out yet, so she's taking slices of a slightly tart apple and dipping them in honey.
She offers the morsel to Skellig as the last bit of sunlight fades and the stars begin to be revealed in all their glory.
no subject
So it is only natural that he leans over and 'offers' himself up for a kiss once he's ready for it.
Surely she'll accept?
no subject
"Hmm, this is nice," she murmurs as they break for a breath. A shower of sparks, a meteor shower, cuts across the sky.
This world is so quiet, so EMPTY, compared to Before. Wild, largely untamed, 'barbaric' by so many standards, and yet....
no subject
"Very nice," he pays just a hint of attention to the meteor shower, most of his focus on her kiss and her presence so close to his. He takes a piece of apple next, dips it in the honey, carefully offers it up to her.
"Still think the stars on the beach, as you told me their legends...those have been my favorite so far. But these might overtake them in their own way."
If she needs help, he will be there with a kiss to clean up.
