Once he has listened well enough and he is certain that they are out of sight, he steps clear of the shoreline, gives her room to shift back to her dragon form, then readies their 'cargo' for the flight back to the Lair.
"What of the ship?" He asks, as he hops 'aboard' her back and settles in to his usual spot, the spells already active around him for protection. "If we sink it, it will be of no use for scrap. But perhaps it could just be disabled, in some way, so that it would never sail again?"
