OOM All Skate Skellig Dream Magic Weirdness -Part Nine
Kreyu has gathered plenty of henna and even woad, a blue dye, for some experiments with designs on Skellig's skin.
"The blue would look lovely on you, I think," she remarks. "Your fairer skin would show it off quite well. Though I am far more experienced in applying henna."
She's gathered bits and pieces of designs to look at for inspiration. Celtic style knots, viking style abstract patterns and stylized beasts, the mandala and floral type designs he's admired on her, and more.

His eyes follow her gaze, and then on to the more permanent piece that is tattooed on his arm. "Maybe if we decide that some of these look good in their places, I might add them permanently," he contemplates. "Give you new things to trace upon my skin, mark special occasions in our life together, our adventures."

Which she will KNOW he is teasing about, as it is not really like they were 'given' to him, they are just a part of him. The same as his hands, his feet, his own two eyes.
"Learning to shift your form must have taken you much practice," he says. "You have done well to come up with such a fine one."

"In some ways, this shape is easier because it is another shape of my soul," she tries to explain. "Truly ME. Learning how to remove the wings from this shape proved far more difficult."
no subject
(To be fair, he does yawn when they break, because he is also quite comfortable and quite sleepy.)
"We have proven that I adore this shape very much," he says. "You have a beautiful soul, and it reflects that."
no subject
"The two seldom go together, I have found. Heka's human shape is supposed to be quite handsome, but I have never met a viler soul in all my life."
no subject
He is only slightly annoyed that he could not kick Heka's ass if he wanted (or needed) to.

She snuggles closer to Skellig, soaks up his warmth, his presence.

He closes his eyes, settles into the nest and allows her body to sink against his. Sleep is threatening, he knows it is, and he's tempted to let it take hold.
"The dye will not be harmed if we choose not to move?" It is plenty warm after all, and there is no real need for blankets, especially with their shared body heat.

And it isn't, because of the way they are both entwined with each other. He isn't exactly sure how long they sleep, but it feels like 'enough' time when they start to stir. His mind is drifting idly through the space between awake and asleep, dreaming of forests and soft rains.

Kreyu shifts a little, then presses herself close again. She's somewhere between awake and asleep.

With his fingertips, he starts to stroke through her hair, toying with some of the curls and waves.
no subject
His wife, his lovely wife, his dragon, curled up against him in their nest, listening to the rain. Had someone told him this would be his future Before, would he have thought them insane?
no subject
Under his breath, he starts humming quietly; the melody is soft, and he couldn't tell the lyrics if she asked. But it is something he remembers, relaxing and gentle.

The lack of rain sound is what finally prompts Kreyu to move, to sit up. She kisses him, then works on peeling away what was holding the dye against his skin. "With luck I haven't created anything too horrible looking," she teases.

"They look good, I think," she says as she peels the last of the protection off of him. "Have to find some still water so you can get a good look."
With yesterday being such a 'lazy' day, Kreyu had plenty of time to prepare for today's meals yesterday, so it won't take long to get breakfast together and eat.

Once he is finished organizing, he settles nearby to watch her as she preps their meal.
no subject
"Thank you, love." She appreciates him tidying up their nest.

(If they even choose to come home tonight at all, and don't just sleep in the forest.)

The most important supplies, the stakes for making a 'boundary' for the spell, are packed already. More symbolic than literal, considering the size of the forest, but they'll work.
The sun hasn't risen too far into the sky when they step out of the Lair. She stretches her wings. "The forest is close enough that I can fly in this shape."
no subject
He takes one of the bags she has packed; it will be easy enough to carry as they fly.
'I have yet to learn all the directions, I would have you lead on." He ruffles his feathers and swings his arms, hopping a bit to stretch his legs - not that he needs to, but, habit.
no subject
She leaps into the air, knowing he will follow. It is perhaps two hours flight at most to the place she's looking for. The forest she seeks is connected to a larger piece of land by tidal islands that are most often underwater. The wood is green, with great trees vast in girth and height.
"No people around right now, and I think I can stretch the spell to cover at least most of it," she tells Skellig.
