"If anyone knows, they're not telling," she replies. She relaxes her feathers, letting him more easily get at the skin beneath. "There are dragons that stay there, maintain the spells to keep humans from finding it. I doubt there are many at one time, we are quite territorial creatures."
She kisses his neck. "There has been talk, of allowing some humans to settle there. Our home, the Ring Islands, has been seen as something of a practice run for such an undertaking. There is trouble in the world, unrest, and I suspect it will grow for quite some time. It would be a help to us to have somewhere else that could take people in need, I am ashamed to admit."
