OOM All Skate Skellig Dream Magic Weirdness -Part Five

In the morning, after they've both bathed, eaten, and they are finally dressed, she's explaining her plans for the morning to Skellig.

"I'm going to be doing two things at once," she explains. "A very overbooked artist has graciously squeezed me in for some henna work, so I'll be gone for a few hours. I'd bring you along, but she's not comfortable around men." Kreyu has her SUSPICIONS as to why, but she doesn't know.

"And since chatting is very much a part of the process, I'll be seeing what I can find out about any recent pirate attacks."

"We can save the others for when we have reached the Lair," Skellig says. "We will have plenty of time to work through them."

He stretches out beside her.

"What is it we need to finish here in the city, before we set out," he asks, moving his fingers to trace the designs on her forearm, overlapping his attentions also to her tattoo. "So that I may think of how we might need to plan?"

They will need to pack of course, and he suspects gather provisions, plan for an encounter with the pirates...

"I will need to pick up the Rod of the Sun I ordered in the morning, then some provisions, and packing."

"There are rumors the pirates are summoning unnatural storms, to damage ships, make them easy prey. Should make them easy to find, if they are hunting."

She snuggles into him. "But if they have caught prey already, it will be tricky. Merely landing on the boat in my dragon shape would sink or destroy it, and I would not kill innocents."

"How long a journey would we need provisions for? I could fetch enough for our travel, plus some bags and ropes while you fetch..." He feels the heat rise again to his skin, his ears burning hot as he speaks. "...the Rod of the Sun."

"Perhaps we may get lucky, and they will be near a shoreline," Skellig suggests. "Close enough to drop our gear on land, stow it away safely, and give you the ability to shift to your eagle form before we would go after them."

He also does not wish to harm or kill innocents - it would not only be wrong, but it would hurt his soul greatly. Even the thought of it is mildly distressing, so he is grateful for the contact of her body against his as she snuggles close to him.

"If they are summoning storms, there is at least one amongst them with magic, then."

"A week, for safety, in case we must detour around a storm." She huffs. "Elihu proved the trip can be made in less than that, with good weather." SO RUDE!

"Or they are allied with some creature with power over storms. I think a human who knows a spell is more likely."

"It might be wisest to drop our gear off first even if they are not near land, we could always go back for it later."

"I think you are right about our gear," he agrees after a moment's consideration. "It would be safest for it. I will gather a week's worth of provisions in the morning, as well as anything else you would have me collect."

Skellig smirks at little at her comment about her brother.

"Perhaps we will catch a tailwind, and you will prove him that the journey can be done faster? I do not know if he took any breaks to rest, or if that is even something you must do, on longer flights..."

Regardless, he will find ways to entertain himself!

"Thank you, Skellig, that will be very helpful."

"I will need to rest on land at night, and hunt every other day when I am in dragon shape. Not for such great prey as a whale, but things like deer or boar."

Nodding, he makes a note of that - while he does not mind settling in for the duration of the trip (he has been stationary for longer periods in much worse conditions than atop her scales in the 'nest' they will manage to create for him) it will be good to have a chance to break each night.

"I will help as I am able with hunting," he offers. "You have far greater abilities, but I will do what I can."

He traces her tattoo on her skin once again, before leaning in to press his lips against hers.

"I will always do what I can."

"As I will for you," she promises. She's getting a little sleepy now. "Time to rest, I think."

He is so very comfortable, to snuggle with!

"You always have the best suggestions," he muses, yawning as he stretches out once again. First he plucks an errant flower blossom from somewhere on the bed and gently tucks it into her hair, before he wraps his arms around them (as well as makes certain that his wing is positioned to best cover them both) and leans in for another kiss.

"We will bathe, come morning." Since it would be a shame to not take advantage of the ability for a good soak one final time. "Then after breakfast, gather what we need and prepare."
