OOM All Skate Skellig Dream Magic Weirdness -Part 11

They are camped in the woods not too terribly far from a road.

Sometime early in the morning, Skellig hears a horse drawn wagon accompanied by men going down the road. He hears a wheel come off the wagon, hears the guards curse, hears wings the size of his own slam against wooden bars.

The wave of despair from the winged one is almost palpable.

Normally, Kreyu would simply vanish her wings to make removing her top easier, but that would deny him the chance to put her feathers back into place.

She removes her top, slow and careful, mindful of her wings. The marks he left on her last night will become visible as she works on removing her top.

Skellig does assist her a few times - and allows his fingertips to fall to one mark, a particularly dark one, near the curve and swell of her breast. His touch is light, and he lingers over it.

"Are they painful?" He asks, glancing up at her, a hint of concern on his features. He hasn't sensed any discomfort from her today so he thinks the answer is 'no', but it still is a worry...

"No, they don't hurt," she assures him, sensing his worry. She leans in to kiss him briefly. She stretches her arms and her wings before settling into a comfortable position on her stomach so he can get at her wings.

"Good." Once she has settled, he gathers a small amount of preening oil on his fingers and then gets to work with sorting out her feathers. They are not in terrible shape, but they definitely are askew in some places beneath the outer layer.

"I am getting faster," he comments after a few moments of quiet work. "Especially with yours. I know where they belong."

"We are becoming more familiar with each other, body and soul."

She sighs in contentment as he works. "Feels so nice."

"We are," he agrees. "Just last night, I was discovering new things about your body as I kissed across it. New places that make you sigh with pleasure. I would never claim to know all of your spots... but some of those were surprises."

Kreyu flushes, memories of last night rising to the surface of her mind. "You are keen to explore what might give me pleasure and very good at remembering what you've discovered. You treat me with such care, always."

Her voice is warm, fond, full of love. "I am the most fortunate of women, to have you as a partner."

A flush rises to his cheeks, and he smiles and ducks his head a little bit.

"I would desire no other to travel this journey together," he says. "We are a truly well-matched pair. I am grateful every day when I wake by your side that it was you who came across me."

"I am too. So very grateful. I am certain you have changed the course of my existence for the better."

She sighs in pleasure as he tucks some feathers back into place. "Almost makes me wish my dragon shape had feathered wings, but you'd never get finished preening me if that were so."

"By the time I would finish my work, I would have to cycle back to the start and begin again," he laughs. "Not that I would complain, but there are certainly other ways that we are able to spend time together while you are in dragon shape that I enjoy more."

He leans in and kisses the back of her shoulder.

"And I am rather fond of your scales. They are strong, yet delicate in their own ways. Beautiful."

She flushes, pleased. "I am glad you find that shape of my soul beautiful. I know it is so very different from the form of your kind, or of humans."

"Of course I would find it beautiful," he grins softly. "No it may not fit the 'traditional standards' for what would be considered beautiful in many senses, but it is your shape. It is strong and powerful, yet graceful at the same time. Your eyes violet, piercing...it is uniquely you, my mate. I love it as I love all the shapes of your soul."

Her heart feels so very full of love, of warmth, when he speaks. "Thank you, my love."

She can feel sleep starting to creep up on her. "Could almost fall asleep right here."

"I would not mind to join you in that space, just as you are," he says. "I will finish up your wings and then I can put out the lamps before I curl up beside you?"

"That sounds lovely," she replies.

She will curl around him when he comes to bed, wanting the closeness. They will sleep long and well tonight, prepared to take on the world in the morning!

Once he has finished up her wings, prepared everything in their space for them to sleep, and then moved to curl up beside her in their 'nest' - they do indeed sleep long and well, aided by the good meal (and the mead) and the actions of preening each other's wings, methodical and slow.

As morning breaks, Skellig does wake first - and 'listen' a bit further outside of their immediate space. There are many conversations already happening, of course, but he hears snippets of the talk of the winds and the weather - it will be a great day for flying, regardless of if anyone were to attempt the course or not.

He stretches slightly but does not move much, not trying to wake her - he wants her to sleep as long as she would like.

There are murmurs that the first snow of the year might fall tonight, all the more reason to be glad that the last of the harvest is in.

Eventually, his dragon stirs, eyes sliding slowly open as she yawns. "Morning, love," she says, voice soft.

"Good morning, my queen," he says quietly, smiling as she yawns (she would blush if he told her how adorable he thinks she looks when she is this sleepy) and presses her body closer to his, seeking more contact. "You slept well, I take it?"

"Very well, my love," she says, smiling sleepily at Skellig. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did," he answers.

His hands slide over her shoulders, as he presses his lips to her forehead. "I have been listening outside our space," he says. "Weather will be good for flying, and they say that tonight may bring the season's first snowfall."

Kreyu's mood turns toward glee at the mention of snow. "I've never been in snow before," she says, excited. "I hope it does snow, at least a little."

"But I would like to fly before that happens." She kisses his forehead. "Shall we break our fast and go look for Tyr?"

Skellig is mildly surprised when she mentions that she has never been in snow before - but given that she is a dragon who keeps her Lair within a volcano...it does make some sense.

"I think that would be wise."

Breakfast is straightforward and simple - some toasted bread with butter, dried fruits and some strips of venison that have been smoked to preserve them - and dressing for flying is straightforward, simple enough. Once they have left their space and headed towards where Tyr and Fenris' home is, he reaches for her hand.

"I look forward to today," he says. "Especially if it should snow. I did not realize you've never been in it, before."

"Just flown over it," she replies, squeezing his hand. "Never much of a reason to land that high on a mountain, so I haven't."

As it happens, they meet Tyr halfway. It seems he was coming to look for them! "Good morning!" he calls. "Fine flying weather, which will be helpful for all three of us."

"I heard talk of it while we were headed this way," Skellig confirms. "Also that there might be snow this evening, and that most are glad that the last of the harvest has been brought in, no need to worry about things going to rot."

He grins slightly. "Kreyu has never gotten to experience snow before along our travels, so if it holds in the forecast, will be glad to see it."

"Truly?" Tyr seems quite surprised. "I had never thought about it, but it makes sense. It becomes warmer the farther south one goes, and Kreyu is from very far south indeed."

"Quite far south," she confirms.

They wind their way through the mountain, out to the Teeth. "The start of the course is down that way," he says, pointing. "Shall we fly there and go from point to point slowly, to start?"
