In the morning, after they've both bathed, eaten, and they are finally dressed, she's explaining her plans for the morning to Skellig.
"I'm going to be doing two things at once," she explains. "A very overbooked artist has graciously squeezed me in for some henna work, so I'll be gone for a few hours. I'd bring you along, but she's not comfortable around men." Kreyu has her SUSPICIONS as to why, but she doesn't know.
"And since chatting is very much a part of the process, I'll be seeing what I can find out about any recent pirate attacks."

"I know there will be times when we will not have such luxuries at our disposal," he adds, with a hint of a shrug as he pushes himself up to more of a 'sitting' position on the couch, making room for her to join him at his side. Motioning around the room with one hand, he smiles. "So I will take advantage of these times when we do have them."
His smile shifts a little, to one that is more...knowing.
"Plus you are a dragon, and I know you like it."

Date: 2024-05-27 08:05 pm (UTC)"My wise husband knows me well," she tells him. She brushes some of his hair out of his face, and he can see that there are intricate patterns even on her palms. "Henna like this is supposed to be lucky for a bride, the artist told me. Supposed to be BEFORE the wedding, but you and I will enjoy them anyway, hm?"

Date: 2024-05-27 08:55 pm (UTC)Skellig shifts to turn his body so he is better facing her, which allows him to lean in and press his forehead against hers.
"I will admit I got quite a thrill, seeing you walk into the tavern with it adorning your body in such a way. Even more so when those who were staring at you were disappointed to know that you were not 'up for grabs'." He smirks. "One of many reasons I kissed you."

Date: 2024-05-27 09:02 pm (UTC)She'll let his imagination work on what they might be and where for a while. "Shall we start with dinner, or did you have other plans?"
no subject
Date: 2024-05-27 09:12 pm (UTC)His eyes wander the rest of her body - she is clothed still, of course, so he is forced to imagine just what might be hiding beneath the folds of linen which she is wearing. (Forced. Such a travesty.) He offers her his hand, stands.
"I stopped at that stall you took me to, got some of those meats that you like. As well as some other things to go with it." Some vegetables, some fruits, more breads. And the beer. "Would my wife join me for dinner?"
She will notice when they reach the table that there are several various sized boxes and bags, wrapped up neatly and piled in a semi-neat stack.

Date: 2024-05-27 09:23 pm (UTC)She's pleased when his eyes wander the rest of her body, she can practically HEAR him wondering. The delay now will only make his discoveries later all the sweeter for the both of them. "I would love to join you for dinner," she tells him, smiling.
He can feel the surge in her curiosity when she notices the packages, but she doesn't ask about them just yet. "Such a lovely feast you've gathered for us." She has the BEST husband.

Date: 2024-05-27 09:35 pm (UTC)His tone is innocent, although his mind is most definitely not. He works to unpack the box, dishing up two plates of food between them, and there will definitely be leftovers if they are still hungry after the first round. Once they have settled in and both have mugs of beer, he looks at her.
"How was the rest of your conversation with Elihu? If you wish to speak of it. If it is private, I would not pry."

Date: 2024-05-27 09:41 pm (UTC)"It went well. Mostly catching up on news about our humans, things that have happened around the lair. I told him about my apprenticeship with Taweret, what it was like in the village."
She laughs. "He didn't SAY anything, but I could tell he was quite baffled by my choosing such a life, even for a short time."

Date: 2024-05-27 09:51 pm (UTC)Skellig tears off another bit of meat from a skewer, stuffs it into a flatbread with some vegetables.
"He asked of how we came to meet," he says. "I told him the story of you finding me upon the road, though I left out some of the more...vivid details of our first afternoon together."
no subject
Date: 2024-05-27 09:58 pm (UTC)She flushes, remembering that first afternoon. "That's probably for the best. I expect our actions would seem....hasty, from the outside."
She can't explain why she felt so powerfully so soon, doesn't really CARE. Kreyu works on her own flatbread, thinking. "But I'm sure they were the right actions, since they have lead to THIS."

Date: 2024-05-27 10:05 pm (UTC)He grins at her.
"Our souls were meant to find one another and become intertwined, I am sure of it. I have never been happier, than I am with you, my love."
no subject
Date: 2024-05-27 10:23 pm (UTC)She takes and chews a few more bites. "I have never been this happy before, in all the centuries I have lived. I would take on the world, to keep you at my side."
no subject
Date: 2024-05-27 11:08 pm (UTC)"It makes me quite pleased to hear you say that," he says honestly. "That I can bring you such happiness. I still sometimes wonder how it is that a...creature like myself, can do such a thing for a dragon's heart."
no subject
Date: 2024-05-27 11:48 pm (UTC)She kisses his forehead, gentle. "My beloved."
"I am keen to see what else you have planned," she admits after she finishes her wrap.

Date: 2024-05-28 12:50 am (UTC)It does not take long for them to finish the rest of whatever they plan to eat for their evening meal; Skellig does leave out some fruits and a jar of honey, 'just in case' they get hungry later and need a snack. Once their beers are replenished, he nods his head towards the couch.
"Go, sit, and get comfortable, and I will bring these things to you?"
The 'things' in question are the various boxes that have remained on the table throughout the meal, untouched.

Date: 2024-05-28 12:55 am (UTC)She smiles at him, goes to sit on the couch. 'Comfortable' involves a bit of a sprawl that makes the dress slide up her legs, show more of the henna work. There's still plenty of room for Skellig if he wants to join her on the couch, though.

Date: 2024-05-28 01:04 am (UTC)"I found some things over the course of the time we have been here in the city that have spoken to me in some way," he explains, sitting beside her and setting the boxes next to him. "Some of them are more valuable than others, but I do think you will enjoy all of them."
The first package he passes over is an odd one, but perhaps the most fragrant - it is the bag that contains the dried herbs and spices and tea that make up the 'Chai' he sampled earlier. As she opens it, he explains:
"I watched her prepare it, so I have an idea...I was unfamiliar, but I suspected perhaps you may already know how?"
no subject
Date: 2024-05-28 01:12 am (UTC)"I have a few recipes for it of my own. I can show them to you, once we're at the Lair." The thought of sharing recipes with him is oddly warming, sets a fluttering in her heart.
"Thank you, Skellig."

Date: 2024-05-28 01:24 am (UTC)With the next boxes he hands over he also explains:
"Now this is three parts - these two are for you, for certain." Those are the boxes which contain the pieces of jewelry he had picked on the first day they had gone shopping together, which he had gathered when she was not near him - the amethyst pectoral collar, with dozens of delicate crystals strung together in various shades of shimmering purples. And the amethyst and turquoise wrist cuff that he had selected to match.
"The third, I cannot read the inscription, I would have you read it first before I might wear it, unless you would rather." That is the small amulet with the dragon carved from amethyst with what is supposed to be some symbols for protection in it.

Date: 2024-05-28 01:33 am (UTC)It is the third box Kreyu goes for first, the amulet. "It looks a bit like me," she says when she glances from the amulet to him. "Lovely work too. Is that why you wanted it?"
She peers at the inscription. "They are protective symbols," she tells him. "Ones for luck, for protection against curses. I can't sense any power in it, so it should be safe for you to wear."
no subject
Date: 2024-05-28 01:39 am (UTC)"That is what the merchant said they were, but I wanted to ensure it was not the opposite before I wore it against my skin." He smiles as she hands it to him, studies the shape of the little dragon as he holds it in his palm. "I figure it is unassuming enough that I would be able to wear it most places, where some of these others would stand out too greatly. And it would be another way I could keep you near my heart."

Date: 2024-05-28 01:53 am (UTC)So he 'allows' her to linger, pulling her body a little closer to his as she kisses him, reaching his hand out to take hold of one of hers, the carved dragon held between their palms.
(He will remember this kiss, each time he thinks of the dragon when it brushes against his skin.)
"I mean every word of it."

Date: 2024-05-28 01:57 am (UTC)"Would you like me to help you put it on now? Or shall we save it for later?"
no subject
Date: 2024-05-28 02:06 am (UTC)Skellig smirks against her lips.
"Not that I am complaining." He leans away only briefly to slip the amulet back into the bag she pulled it from, and places it on the side table behind them for safekeeping.
